A 100 Mile Meal

June 27, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Tonight we made a meal of things produced within 100 miles (at least as far as we know): Zucchini and tomatoes from the garden, and corn and chicken from local farms.  (I’m excluding the salt, pepper and olive oil, since I don’t know where those were from.)  It was simple and delicious.  Even if we don’t eat all our meals 100 mile-style, it’s fun to try it out and see what happens.  So far, it’s been great.  And this is the time to do it, such local food is much more abundant, varied, and easy to find in the summer.
